Weekend Fun!

The most fun of the weekend would be if you stopped by to visit me in my store.

Yes! I am the store with the Tattoo Art on the walls. Art done by the awesome artist Jamie Givens Her company is Mural and Things by Jamie @ www.jamiegivens.org. Click this link to go there: http://www.jamiegivens.org

The black and white checkerboard floor. Colorful and the kids, especially the young ones love it.

I found at www.kentuckyblogs.com a blogger who does Fash Food. Her blog is at http://fashfood.bloginky.com and she posted that Burlington Antique Show opens for season on Sunday.
Check it out: http://www.fashfood.bloginky.com

The season’s first Burlington Antique Show is Sunday at Boone County Fairgrounds, 5819 Idlewild Road (Ky. 338), Burlington.
The outdoor show, featuring more than 200 dealers, is held the third Sunday of the month from April through October.
Early-bird shoppers pay $5 from 6 to 8 a.m.; admission is $3 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., free for ages 11 and younger. This booth, from a past show, features a variety of wood furniture.

Now if you know me, I love antiquing. If I find something, I "have" to have it. Don't tell my husband that this is happening because he will run to the bank to protect our money!
Honey, I promise... I will just look this time!

Lexington - Long Beach!!!

I think its funny how Lexington and Long Beach have similarities. You know the same, but different. Unique to itself and you have to be there to appreciate!

In Long Beach they have the Long Beach Grand Prix this time of year.

In Lexington we have Keeneland

In Long Beach they have The Queen Mary

While in Kentucky we have Queen City Riverboats

In Long Beach and all around Southern California they have Mountain Dogwood Trees

In Kentucky we are blessed with beautiful Flowering Dogwoods

And the best thing of all is that no matter where you are you can purchase from my online store @
www.cradlewillrockonline.com. Right now, buy any two dresses and get one free!

Mother Nature didn't get the memo!

Apparently the weather around Lexington during this time of year usually hovers around the 60 degree mark. Mother Nature didn't get the memo because her temps have been exceeding that. I cannot say I am disappointed a bit!

At this time of year, Washington DC is having their Cherry Blossom festival. All around the country the trees are in bloom and it is ga-ga-gorgeous! I wish I was in DC to see all the Cherry Blossoms but I am not. So here is a picture of what we all are missing right now.

The good news is that I have a friend who will be in DC in the next few weeks. I will be making a trek with my son and taking in a little history at the same time. Love that. Visit with a friend from California and show my son our Nations Capitol!
I think Lexington can give DC a little run for their money. What do you think?

Is it just me?

Can you believe it is already mid-April of 2010? We are officially down a quarter and well into the beginning of the 2nd. Wow! Time flies while you are having fun! The sun was warmly welcomed this weekend and it looks like the weather will be mostly sunny the entire week. This always makes me happy!

Did you know they do a Toddler Storytime (ages 2-3) at the Lexington Public Library - Beaumont Branch (3080 Fieldstone Way)? If you think your little one would enjoy this it is from 10-1030am on Wed, April 14th.

Your little girl would look adorable in one of The Cradle Will Rock Pillowcase Dresses along with a coordinating hat and love how cool it is in the sunshine!

I'm still dreaming of New York, here's why!

It's the weekend so grant me my daydreaming time. Now I used to live in California and we all know what great the weather is. I'm now transplanted here in Lexington, Kentucky and love it. The beautiful trees, the flowers, the people. The winter sort of gave me the 1-2 punch but hey, I am still breathing!

PARK AVENUE TULIPS

TREE LINED STREETS

Just a couple other reasons why I keep thinking about escaping to New York!
