Time for Summer Camp!


Summer is officially here.

For kids around the country, school is out by now. Some have even started Summer School for those schools who are offering it! I hear many schools just don't have the budget for it! This is such a shame.

Kids may think summer school is for the birds.

Some boys and girls are happy to hear there is no summer school.
For those of you who work and are now dealing with your children being at home ... alone... Summer Camp can be a great babysitter.



Explorium of Lexington.
Preschool summer camps, 9 a.m.-noon, ages 3-4 (must be potty trained). $110 members, $120 non-members.
Story Book Adventure Camp, June 14-18; Color My World, June 21-25.
Kindergarten-second grade summer camps, 9 a.m.-noon. $130 members, $150 non-members.
It's A Mystery, July 5-9;
Gadgets and Gizmos, July 12-16;
Dinosaur Discovery Camp, July 19-23;
Mini-Masters Art Camp, July 26-30. Grades 3-5 summer camp: 9 a.m.-noon half day, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. full day. $130 members, $150 non-members for half day; $190 members, $210 non-members full day.
CSI Mystery Camp, July 5, full day; Chemistry Camp, July 12, full and half day;

Imani Summer Camp.
Computer lab, sports, swimming, tutoring and field trips. 1555 Georgetown Road. 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Ages 5-13. $75 a week. Sibling discount. Scholarships available. Summer activity fee $90. National Academy Summer Day Camp.
Two or three field trips weekly. 5:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Begins when Fayette County is out of school; ends when school is back in session. 3500 Arbor Drive. Ages 5-12. $137 full-time; $117 part-time. York Sammons, (859) 273-3292.

Pepperhill Farm Day Camp.
Kindercamp. Ages 3-6. 7:15 a.m.-6 p.m. June 7-Aug. 11. 2104 Eastway Drive. $60 membership fee per child. $160 a week, four-week minimum. Jr./Sr./Grad camp. 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. $160 a week for Jr./Sr. camp, two-week minimum. $190 with lunch. $200-$250 a week for Grad camp, because travel is involved. Sibling discount. (859) 277-6813
